Revell 1/48 Maverick's Tomcat pretty rough

I'm trying to convince myself it's the kit.....several times I thought the F-14 might flat spin itself to the sea. When we review a kit and say there is little flash on the parts, what exactly is this considered? In Revell speak. I'm gonna have to dig that pitot tube outta that.

Revell engineers around a table....what are we going to do with this?

Sam from Revell....let's just provide a piece of plastic and have them lob glue and just throw it on a random flat surface with no indention or hole or anything. Modelers won't mind shearing it off like 100 times turning the model over to look at the finished underside of their model...they'll love it.

HI NOT CRITISUZUEIN YOUR WONDERFULL MODEL OF MAVERICKS TOMCAT AS I THINK YOU HAVE DONE A LOT BETTER MODEL THAN I COULD HAVE BUT THIS IS JUST AN OBSERVATION BUT I SEE YOU HAVE PAINTED THE WRONG COLOURS ON THE NAV LIGHTS AS IT SHOULD BE RED ON PORT SIDE AN GREEN ON THE STARBOARD AN THERE SHOULD SOME ON THE UNDER SIDE

Thank you for the compliment, I think we all post our work here to get constructive criticism. My last couple of hours on this F-14A did drag a little and a quick look at the painting charts might have hurt me with the red/green light painting. I did intentionally not paint the lights on the underside realizing the missle rack covered the light. Instead of painting it and being unhappy with it I omitted it.

Couple of updates....First the NAV LIGHTS are correct. Now to the pilots, apparently Goose's injuries were far worse than we first thought. I wanted the option of removing the pilots, with Revell's kit the only way to put Goose in was to amputate his legs.

I want Goose and Mav's helmets to shine, would it better to use fingernail clear over acrylics or would it be best to brush on acrylic gloss varnish I have?

Couple of things about the build

1.) Terrible kit, I think I did the best I
could, I'm happy with it.
2.) I will wash parts in future and I went to
rattle cans for primer, throwing away
Mission Model primers.
3.) Decals, I struggle with them quite a bit.
while struggling with decals, my paint
would soften with water while
applying them.
4.) I hate no step decals, professional
maintainers should know where to
step.
5.).would have loved to see helmet
decals for pilots.
6.) I have another Revell F-14A in stash,
If I feel I've harmed society in any way
I will break that out and pay my dues.
7. I will work a little harder on flash and
mold lines on parts, work out injector
Pin marks.

Will post Maverick and Goose completed figs soon
