Revell Gemini detail kit help please

Hello,

When I was young, maybe 5 or 6 (I was born in 1962), I had a model of the Gemini capsule (Revell ... 1/24 ... I am pretty sure).

A few years back I bought one (re-issued version) ... picked it up and tucked it away.

At the time, I saw that at one time a "detail kit" was available at one time. It contained photo etched parts as well as plastic parts (some for added detail, some to correct mistakes in the original model).

Anyway, when I bought the model, the detail kit was already not available ( the instructions online say LVM Studios and dated 2012)

Does anyone know if these kits (even if through two suppliers ...one for the photo parts and one for the plastic parts) ..... or maybe plans for these parts (I found YouTube videos of people making their own photo parts and maybe I could get someone to 3d print the plastic ones) ?

That is the Revell kit!

Interesting ... I had not seen this detail kit. Just a bit different ... no photo parts but a complete new heat shield and a lot of detail parts.

Good price but it is sold (sale pending) ... but a good start since I now know there are two different kits out there.

I just finally, after 11 years, finished mine as a rocket scientist buddy asked me a few months back to built it for him. I had picked up the LVM kit way back then and it was great, mostly PE parts but an excellent kit. The seats and door insides were the best parts. They have not been available for quite some time and looking on eBay yesterday there were none listed. The Real Space Models resin and after insulation dome parts are available and well worth it. The thrusters and external on the Revell kit are wrong and way out of scale. Also Space Model Systems sells an excellent decal set but if you want the early mission stripes on the aft modules it does take some work to get them on correctly. Here's pics of my build just completed last week, finally.

Can't imagine sitting in there on top of a 'controlled' conflagration, let alone hurtling back through the atmosphere in a tin can!
