Engine/Shroud attached. Fluid lines to skis attached (made them look leaky onto skis). Straps added to front. Light added.
Just have to do the fluid stuff where the engine sits. still figuring that out. may use a dropper to get some nice thick drips. figured its going to be real messy back there.
Then its onto the base. Got some awesome help from TRM so cant wait to start it.
enough blah blah blah, onto the pics!
Drivers door. Since it bothers me that the interior would be hidden and i did some weathering inside and i like it, im going to leave the door off and on the side of the aerosan. maybe looking like it broke. theres some PE hinges, maybe ill bend them up.
also, just had a lil oopsie. put in a window and the glue spurted out. and its glossy. so i tried to get it off with oil thinner cause it doesnt seem to eat the acrylic. and it just spread it so theres this big gloss patch. so i sprayed some dullcote to match what i did before and it made the paint all crackly, and didnt realize i got it on the propeller. so i panicked and got a q-tip to wipe it off propeller, and it took the paint off but it actually looks like real weathered wood now. so it kinda worked out. however i now have a big patch of crackle paint. it doesnt look terrible cause the thing is weathered and itll be on the back of the diarama but boo. so i added some wash, and did some other magic and it doesnt look as bad now.
boo boo. i like the propeller better now. more layers of color. worked out. crackly, not so much...
after adding wash, looks better. doesnt seem as out of place.
and the base. going to age wood, and add earth and snow and all that jazz. this is just the clay base and bare wood fence. also first time doing a base. this thing is soooo fragile i have to
Got some more of the base done. Laid down the dirt and painted the fence. Still going to do more to fence, just not 100% sure of what yet. next is snow, just waiting for the precision snow to make its way. came out pretty good so far. like the contrast of mud colors. looks pretty real.
interesting choice of packing shape. looks like "snow" from columbia. eh eh.
so, i love this stuff. it was so easy to apply and looks amazing! is a bit messy though. wish i did it outside.
and shes done!
Here's the final pics. Its done done. I'm happy with it. I know i could do more to the base but I'm ready to hit the Mp4 hard, so i can get to this Soviet tractor i just got (woo).
Hope you all enjoy. It was a blast to build. For my first weathering and base I'm happy. With more models will come more experience. I've learned a ton.
Also i would like to thank TRM. He has answered countless questions for me. I don't know why he still talks to me or hasn't blocked me but I'm very thankful to have that kind of help instantly. And thanks to everyone else for the positive comments.
