SMA What's New In Your Stash?!?

Somebody offered this for sale on another forum:

When I put an offer on it plus another kit, he informed me the other one was already spoken for, but this box actually contained:—

two complete LCM (3) kits plus a set of Trumpeter crew figures. Not quite sure yet what I'm going to do with these :) Maybe build one and sell the other, or build them both as American and British, or maybe graft the two together into an LCM (6)?

Looking pretty good. That's an LCVP (from Italeri, I assume?), which is a good bit smaller than these LCMs.

FWIW, I started building Gecko's LCA (the British counterpart to your LCVP) about a year and a half ago, but it's on hold. You can see my progress with it over on Scalemates, but this photo should tell you a lot about the kit's basic accuracy, and why I didn't feel like continuing work on it (though I will finish it one of these days):

Basically, if you want an accurate LCA, you can use the hull, the deck, and some detail parts, but almost everything else needs to be replaced because correcting it is impossible :(

I'm not very big on Gundam models and in fact I've downsized much of the Gunpla I know I'd never get around to building, but the Zetaplus is pretty cool. I like these old Gundam Sentinel kits.

My friend gave me this old legacy Macross kit. It comes with a 1:144 scale Gerwalk Valkyrie and a 1:12 scale figure model of Hikaru.

I already had Patton, but in the reprint edition of a few years ago, and the originals are much better quality. All I need now to complete the series is Stuart, which I've never come across except at prices far higher than I'm willing to pay …

The two books at lower right are only because I like collecting old modelling handbooks. The one in Dutch is a translation of Painting & Lining scale models, which was published in 1976 by Argus; this translation is from 1981.

I know there will be some figures coming, usually are, but much later.

I broke my self-imposed rule, no more kits, got too many already, but,.................................. When it does come in I'll have to be pretty sly getting it past the gate guard. Wish me luck.

That looks like an incredible kit! I have a pale shadow of a 1:35 kit, with conversion to the British version, but I think I'll wait to see how yours comes together for ideas on details to add to mine! ;)
