I guess it's a plane ,,more like a rocket plane.
Heller X-15 (1/130 scale)

I shouldn't take long there's only 1 sprue set, and a stand

I see a lot of flat black pain in this kit's future.
Looking forward to watching the progress.

the file allowance here is very limiting .I can get down to 125kb per photo limit but . no more than 250 kb total per post..??.

I just changed attachment limits. Max size per image: 200KB, Max per post is now 5 and Max Per Post is now 1MB.

Could also host your pics on a site like Photobucket or flickr and then just use link info here

I had to fill in the area above the wings , the slot was much larger than the thickness of the wing.
so I filled and sanded these areas.
I also filled in the 2 landing skid mounting holes , as this will be in flying display.

once I filled and sanded , I shot a dusting of grey primer and smoothed up any last tiny blemishes.

I wanted a gloss black surface to prepare for decals, all I had on hand was auto air acrylic black that dries to a flat finish . Luckily I do have some future acrylic.. than I though why not mix them and kill 2 birds !

It also gave me a chance to finally use my T@C omni 5000 airbrush.

lots of uncharted territory here , spraying future, mixing it with auto air and my first paint thru the omni.
I got the ratio about 50/50,, and played with the pressure ..it looked like around 18-20 psi was working.

The finish went on Beautifull !!!..I am lucky today.

however on the very last pass over the model the cup ran out and it sputtered onto the model ..arrgghhh.

thankfully the future did level out pretty well,,not as nice as it was before the last pass ,,but good enough for me.Afterall this is a very tiny model (1:130 scale),,no detail to speak of no ,,panel lines,, nothing to really capture thru weathering techniques.

after a day to cure I can work on decals,, I also need to paint the motor area and a few tiny details.
those will be done with a small brush

The fastest - ever! X-15 is one of my favourite x-planes. Good job so far, it will look great with the NASA decals.
