Not 100% done yet. Just trying to gauge what else needs to be done as I often find missing stuff or areas that need to be tweaked when combing through pics
Still need to add the lifeboats for example
This is the newer tooling that has a more "refined" hull shape based on newer research and reference available
Also being a Tamiya kit, it just falls together with little effort or needing to fill gaps etc..
Some simplified detail like the crane but over all pretty good for 1/700
I am also a little uncertain of the deck color. Many builds I see have it a more tan color, but I thought it was the typical Japanese linoleum deck color.
I might have been mistaken though and it really should be a more natural wood color that was stained with black oil. So not quite a buff color, but more like a black buff. Either way I may have to revisit the deck, but then again, this supposed colorized pic seems to match that
And for the fun of it, alongside the Bandai 1/1000 2199 Space Battleship Yamato
