The Black Falcon

Hey Guys ,

Here's My entry ... MPC's version ... ROTJ box art. I plan on making this one th Black Falcon ... or when Solo got th Falcon Anodized Black , I will also not be using any AM ..... as th $$ is just not there, but I do plan on scratching th Sidewalls & giving th Falcon her Classic Stance !!

Really looking forward to this Eric! How dark is she going to be? Are you using a number different shades Inc german greys (which you must have loads of lol) blacks etc?

I bought the same kit on Ebay. The seller just wrapped brown paper around it and slapped a shipping label on it. The box arrived like it had just been delivered by a mule from Afghanistan. (under fire) ;D Luckily the contents are in decent shape and the kit is buildable. I feel ya on the sidewalls. This Po Boy is definitely scratchbuilding as well. HOw hard will it be to Scratch build the side walls?
I need to go to the storage space and locate my Falcons.

Just to let you know, this kit does not have a cockpit to speak of. I found that out last night and started scratch building seats.

I saw your vid, and the figures look dreadful. I think one was supposed to be Han, but his head looked like it was just a sphere?!?!?!!? WTH?!?!?!?! :

It just has two seats and a rear door that looks like it came from a submarine.....

Horrible stuff. I wasn't going to do that much correction on this one, but she has to have a cockpit! Especially since I am lighting her up. Where would I put the blinky lights?

@JOHN - I'm goin with AlClad !! I'll Prime it & shoot a Gloss Black in Alclad , Chrome & then mist a few coats of AlClad Smoke !!

I'll have a look @ th Cockpit .... Perhaps some 1/72nd Jet Fighter seats will Do .... I gotta sit down & really look it over !!

Erik, could be cool to have a few panels as bare steel and maybe a couple rusted too. Just to break up a totally black paint job.

Even at that, some gloss, some matte. I'm sure you rock the sox off it.

It first appeared in such color in the first book of "The New Jedi Order" series "Vector Prime" and was described as a refit, with most of the previously opened panels closed, new guns some additional armament, new sensor systems and tuned up engines. To mark all those changes Han also decided to paint it into monochromatic black to give the old lady even more upgraded look and to make this fast ship be almost unnoticable in space.

It was first (and it seems to me that only) shown on the cover of that same book (absolutely doesn't seem black to me)

Ah !! Renovations = Artistic License !! It seems like I have some X-Tra turned 20mm barrels ( in 1/35th) in th Stash that might just look Cool on this Re-Fitted Black Falcon !! I'll have to double check to see if scale wise they would work. I might even Black out th Cockpit or give it a Golden Mirrored Finish with some other AlClad ( paint th Glass from th Inside & hit it with th Gold AlClad & Back it with th Chrome & then Black) ?? It might look cool matched against th Anodized Black ?

Ah-ight ... after some "re-editing" the Clip is at a good speed !! I had to lengthen the clip. It was originally clocking in @ 20 seconds .... In making it longer it slowed down the Text !! ;D Thanx for watching !!

I'll put Styrene to Glue by Tonight & get through a big Chunk this Week -end. I think I'll start with th Landing gear/Bays .... etc .. I've gotta look over th directions & get a handle on th Greebies that I'lll need for th sidewalls !

Th Fast Scrolling .... that's th way it started out, as it is originally a 20sec. spot ... So I stretched it to a minute & it slowed down th text scroll !! ;D
