Tie Fighter Revell Easy kit

Yeah... A horrible dry-brush like paint done by Revell... Not a necessity here, BTW, since the Tie Fighters are pretty new and for all that matters, inspected and fixed every day.
Not like the Rebels, with starships done with spare parts, no panels (Y-wings), old ships and stuff...

Well, I'll manage to give it the correct treatment soon.
I'm waiting for some useful parts to replace the Twin Ion Engines, and do a better job for the painting and a correct wash with oil and White Spirit.

An easy way to remove the pre-paint is 90% (or higher) rubbing alcohol. Let it soak for a bit and it wipes off fairly easily

Yes, the Imperial ships get enough maintenance that they should look in great shape most of the time.
Of course there would be some "Carbon scoring" around the blasters, and some of the engine areas, but the hull shouldn't look all dirtied up.

An alcohol treatment ? :)

Well, the Revell Drybrushing is awful but I'd like to keep the dark panels, and so on... :)

You'll see pretty soon what I mean. Plus, I have the little brother, the Tie Fighter from the Easy kit Pocket collection, to build too :)

Yes, regular old isopropyl alcohol

If you want to be more selective in the prepaint you remove you could always dip a rag in it, and then wipe just the weathered areas on the main body. It may take a few minutes but it should clean it up

How does the pocekt kit size up with the pocket Tie Interceptor and Tie Advanced? Hopefully the same size. If not, then hopefully it at least sizes with the pocket X-wing

It seems fairly close to the same scale but I really can't be this categorical.

Plus, I don't have my Easy kit pocket with me for any scale comparison. IMHO it's the same scale, now the Tie Fighter, with its big panels, is really bigger than the X-1 or the Interceptor.
Somebodies told me that it's even slightly bigger than the Fine Molds Tie Fighter.

As a matter of fact, the pilot is more 1/60 scale than 1/110 as told on the box art.
