Hi,
I mostly paint aluminum colored gift wrap with transparent blue or green then glue it on transparent visor parts on ground vehicles, it gives realistic look. I was using tamiya transparent paints for this with no problem. But today i realized that i don't have a acrylic transparent green. I've found a Winsor & Newton indian ink in my workshop. Firstly i've dilluted it with water to increase transparency. Gift wrap is so shiny, paint doesn't adhere to surface becuse of surface tension. I've tried to add detergent and glycerine to decrease surface tension but didn't work. Then i've added mixture of water and Winsor & Newton Flow improver still doesn't work, then tried only flow improver with thicher consistency and still doesn't work. Paint creates islands on surface no matter how you make it. Any ideas will be appreciated, Thanks.
