To nose weight or not...that is the question.

Put together the large main parts temporarily (holding them together with tape if you have to) and balance the model on your fingers, where the main gear goes. If it tips backwards, it needs a nose weight — simple as that :)

As for how much weight: put some stuff like Blu-Tack or similar on the forward part of the model, as close as you can get it to where the actual weight is to go in. Keep adding little bits until the model tips forward, and then just weigh the amount of Blu-Tack you added. Put in at least this much weight of lead (or whatever) in the hose.

And as a third tip: the "liquid gravity" that's sold specifically for this purpose is actually a poor choice. I looked it up a few years ago, and IIRC it has a specific gravity (sg) of something like 4 or 5. For comparison, lead is 11, so if you use lead shot you would only need half to a third as much.
 
Another option is to put your model on a base and anchor it with a pin, or with a small bolt in the nose wheel.
