I learned that it was the railroad engineers that played a large part in designing U.S. Tanks just prior to WWII. Sprung bogies on Shermans and Lee tanks. By the way if you are in a Panther or tiger and you come across two or more Shermans, find an excuse and leave.
I learned that with the disadvantage U.S. tankers had in firepower and armor protection they made up for in tactics and to some extent numbers.
