What was your car growing up (high school car)

I had two, I moved a lot during my high school years. I had a 1973 Monte Carlo like the one pictured, but a nicer set of wheels;

My last two years before I left for the Army and off to Germany, I had a 1975 Impala just like this one, but dark blue with the white top. Those 2 doors were huge, one the dorr and take up two lanes of traffic...lol.

I also had a '73 Monte Carlo. See page 1 of this thread. Awesome car. I loved it.

My first car was a pre war MG/Riley special. MG T type sports body fitted to Riley twin cam 1500cc engine/wilson preselect gearbox. It was a fast handful for an 18 year but great fun! p.s currently rebuilding a 1936 MG. It is like a big construction kit. robin bird Merseyside

This Mustang was not my first, or my last, but it is the only one I currently own, and I bought it is 1988. I drive it regularly too (parking a vehicle for long periods is harmful), as recently as yesterday.

Gotta keep the childhood alive, I think models fit into that theme too.

...just found this thread, road trip down memory lane!
As a kid, my folks had a 64 Rambler, and we'd go camping in it! It had screen sleeves that fit over the door windows, and custom air mattresses that fit over the fully reclinable seats. My mom made some curtains that she hung on fishing line my dad had rigged inside!

Ours was silver, with the red interior!

Then, in '72, my dad bought a Meteor Rideau 500, just in time for the oil crisis: "the howdy howdies" he'd say... my younger brother had cried all the way home when we left the Rambler on the lot.

By the grade 13, I'd scored a job as a cleaner, then sorting mail, weekend part-time.(20 hours)
There were about 50 of us, union wages, between the ages of 18 and 25!

After the Friday night shift, the parking lot was alive with the sounds of Dusters, Camaros, Firebirds and anything that could hold a car stereo!

When my dad couldn't stomach the price at the pump anymore, I offered to buy the Meteor off him, he let it go for a song. First stop, Langlois Car Radio in the west end... the v8 was pretty sweet, but come on, a cassette desk with amp and equalizer, and ginormous speakers mounted on the back deck!
Best of all was the front bench seat, so your girl could shimmy on over close!

Okay, car guys, "Grills for 50..."
Hint: snapped this in '79-80, parked up to the curb.
Other than that, don't have a clue!
