Hmmm ... although I completed mine, I've found a few things that I'd like to improve on them, so yeah go for it - extend it too any comp kit, completed or otherwise.
I'd like to add some weathering to my Macross kits, especially the SV-51.

As for the Desk/Shelf queens idea - this sounds similar to StarshipModeller's (I think it was these guys) monthly completer section - you nominate a model partially done and then you aim to complete it within the month.

Either or both options - I'm for it.

another idea is have finished models, that have aged, or models that you could improve, re paint, re build, add detail, sort along of those lines, similar to the finish up.

or restore a mode that has sat for a while, once was finished, had a few things dropped on it, some paint scratches, restore it to its former glory, or go a step above. but thats more along the lines of restoration then completing something that is partially finished.

I won't vote, because I was one of the lucky ones who finished.
But I'm seriously liking the idea.

Same here, I donmt remember ever having finished 2 models for one GB before.

Great idea Scott!

I Vote Yeah 2011 Big Spring Contest entries folks who didn't finish.

I did get mine done in time.

But I do think it's a great idear.

Still working on my late bird.

Funny thing is, before reading this I was already thinking of making a procrastinators video just to show off all my half finished kits for kicks.

I don't believe this is necessarily another 'competition' with prizes idea, it's just an option for those who didn't finish to still have the chance to continue their builds that didn't make the deadline, in a group build setting.

There wouldn't be an entry fee since there isn't any prizes, it's just a group build here on site to continue where everyone left off.

I guess just continue with the thread you started if you have one...

if not you'll have to wait until the voting in this thread is over and Scott decides to create a place?

Me too Tony...I was thinking of making a vid like that...show my 6+ stalled builds.

Guys...no fee, no nothing - just keep building your kits and try to finish em by the end of September. After that we'll do a Millennium Falcon group build.

@Scott - After contest voting has concluded, are you going to set up a group build topic?

If you do, can old WiP threads be moved to that location, or should we start new ones?

JMac

I,m not trying to answer for Scott but moving the threads is easy enough and probably the best option.

How about calling it the "resurrection group build" With the theme of resurrecting once great ideas into completion. I for one have too many that are forever stalled and need to be completed so I think this is one build I would join.

i will join too, if i ever scrounge up enough money for supplies, i have my F-106x... i have A BF-109E-7 that needs re done, i think i might as well get a new Tamiya 1/48th scale BF-109E-7 for that though, beacuse its really bad, the canopy is fogged up with glue. i also have a couple of B-29 Super fortresses i want to get some restoration work done on, sealer, re paint! if i can just get money, or supplies, this would be a big opportunity for me to participate in this, and i am having heavy modeling withdraws and dying to get back into this, almost impossible when your a poor collage boy, however summer break is coming up and i will find a way!
