Your most wanted ship Kit...

I have three on my list (for now), and all played major roles in US Naval history;

USS Enterprise CV-6 (Midway)
USS Missouri BB-63 (WWII)
USS New Jersey BB-62 (Late 1991)

I'm looking to add the 1/350 Midway, just waiting for a PE set for it. And the 1/700 Toms FDR or CoralSea(?) to go with my 1/700 OrangeHobby '90 Midway.
The kit I would LOVE to see someone produce(and not in a full 3D form, but I'd be happy with a real resin hull and 3D parts) is a 1/350 HMAS Perth to complete my 1/350 Java Sea Collection (already includes HOUSTON, Exeter, De Ruyter, Java, and the DD's or DD kits for conversion)… now it's just a matter of building or finishing the 2 I've started(De Ruyter 70%, Java 30%)…

I do not know of any, it would be HUGE!

There are some 1:350s out there, but they are older.

There's this...

Don't laugh, I can see little tiny you down there!
:D That looks like some kinda chemical processing plant
We were making styrene that whole time and no one ever said anything .
I guess that's where all that extra steam was actually going and we were foolishly blaming it on the catapults .

HI Eric (OldManModeler ) im glad you like my BIG Nimtz CVN 68 carrrier as it had lots of workin features such as all the lightin up the flight deck an islands S/S an workin aircraft elevators from R/C an took 7 yrs to build an it came in two halves so i could transport it to the pond an ive still got the plans for her an would love to build another NIMITZ class carrier but cant now as too old now so she was a one off ship but i really enjoyed the build as i often look at the build as i have it on my laptop but glad you like it sir an im now lookin to build smaller ship kits but in my opinion 1/350th is just to small hence why im hopein to see some carriers in 1/200th scale as yes would be a fair size but manageble an it would save me havin to scratchbuild that massive hull which took me 2 yrs to build so thanks for your reply an nice comments on the ship

Chris,

You sir are on an entirely new level. Most of us mortals buy a plastic kit in a box from a store, slap some glue and paint on it and then think we are craftsmen or artists. This a whole new thing, and like I said...HUUUUGE!

USS Wasp (CV-7) and USS Ranger (CV-4), in 1/700, injection-molded styrene.

There are kits of these subjects, in resin, from Corsair Armada, but they're currently out of print again (they had been re-issued briefy a couple of years ago). The resin kits are very nice, but almost impossible to find.

With those two, I could model the first 9 US carriers, from the Langley to the Essex.
Check Squadron, I believe he has RANGER in stock. If not, watch FleaBay for both of them. And if by chance you do land RANGER and grab the BRM's wooden veneer deck, a heads up, the rear elevator does NOT lineup if you opt to build it in the lowered position… ask me how I know ‍♂️.

Both are AMAZING kits, I'm kind of surprised Mike isn't producing more of them if they are all gone. The only thing I can think of, he's semi-retired I believe and leery of getting stuck with them with the present push of 3D out there. He's a talented man, but as we all know, resin kits aren't cheap to produce. It took him a long time to sell his original 80 kits of HOUSTON! I found that shocking and sad. I have quite a few Corsair Armada kits, still a few I would grab if I could find them. You just don't see that crispness in plastic. Yes, there are some things I upgrade now, but I do that on every kit…
