The Battlestar Galactica Moebius should have made!

You actually had one? Chunk some pictures at me. No good huh? That sounds about right since you don't see alot of that brand around. The link you posted does look good, but I suppose scratching is in order since I prefer a different Viper and I want it bigger.

Rob.
Yes, I had preordered mine during a time when I was unemployed and should not have done so. It was a disappointment when I got it. I ended up painting the canopy opaque because the clear part just looked terrible. I later got a Gradius III version, but I sold it a few years ago. Here is my build:

As usual, looks great! I think the Gradius III version is the one I want. See if you can get it back and send it to me. We'll trade or somethin'.

No, that wouldn't be possible. Besides, the new Plum kits are far better than the old Atelier Sai kits. Plum is a competent model company. Atelier Sai tried to do something they did not have the engineering know-how to do, and it ruined the company. I've been considering selling my completed kit. It was the "Sky Girls" version Vic Viper. Whatever cosmetic differences with it to the Gradius 4 or 5 models are, I am unsure. I might find a buyer on a videogame forum or something.

Woah now, ya' gotta stop thinkin' so negative. You live over there in Japan, so ever day when you go to a model shop, even though they suck, dig around and see if'n you can't find one of these versions:

When you do, think about me. If you need somethin' from a Walmart or Target or somethin' over here in Louisiana, like long johns, or, Sweet Baby Ray's beef jerky, or, maybe some Hershey's chocolate... we can still work out some kinda deal.

I'm open to negotiations.

Well, you said about me getting it back from the person I sold it to, and that wouldn't be possible. Yes it is possible to still find one of these Atelier Sai kits. YAJ has a Gradius II one listed for 5,000 yen when I checked there a few days ago. I'm just telling you that these kits aren't very great. The canopy alone is crap. But, you have demonstrated in this thread that you are very capable of modifying kits. Maybe you can vacuform a replacement or something. I'll send you a private message. I'm just telling you that you could get one of the new Plum kits for less. They are smaller, but are pretty fantastic.

Well... Mr. Steve,

Just pullin' yer leg my friend, don't think about this any more. Ebay's got a couple listed and have for years.

Hello again Mr. Fish!

Have you any recent videos of your Galactica build or is #4 the last update? If there's a #5 or later, could you link to it?

Rob.
Ah man, I haven't touched it in such a long time! I got a bit burned out with electronics and took a year or more off from that. But now I'm trying to give electronics another shot, and currently I am looking to hopefully figure out a circuit for a torpedo firing sequence for my Klingon K'tinga model. My Galactica build was stalled when I couldn't get the chase light sequence figured out for the landing bays. I had my failure on the breadboard on my shelf, collecting dust for about 2 years. I just recently cleaned it off and put the parts and resistors back in their storage bags. (Although why can't they just write the ohms resistance values in numbers on the resistors instead of those colored bands? It's like they hate colorblind people like myself!)

I've vowed that this will be the year to tackle my shelf queens. I still need to finish my lighted Fine Molds Millennium Falcon kit too. I still haven't done the weathering on it.

hey brother I have your solution for the landing bay lights! I had Evan Designs program 5 pairs of lights for each bay. Very reasonable pricing and great service. Tell them I sent you!

I haven't been sharing too much info here on my 4' Galactica build but here some elements for my bays.

I took a break from this one too, but I did pick up some of that photo-etch I saw on yours and will be getting back to mine before too much longer. I dread hand making all those Leopold trusses. There's alot of 'em.

When you post another video, hollar. I wanna watch!

Don't let them electronics beat you. You'll figure somethin'.

Lookin' good.

OH MY COW that is perfect! My problem is that I was taking a design I'd found on YT and I was able to slow it down considerably, but not slow enough. Here is what I was able to come up with:
(My 3rd video in this build.)
I just don't have a potentiometer to determine how much resistance I need to slow down the sequence. I didn't have enough different resistors in various ohms to try experimenting with in lieu of a potentiometer. I think I now do, so I wanna give it another shot. I was getting very excited at first, but once something doesn't work, I get burned out. (It's why I gave up on my original plan of a career in IT.)

I have some resin-printed Galactica shuttles from JT Graphics, who now seems to be highly unreliable and is not fulfilling his orders properly. I guess I'm lucky to have bought that before he became fickle for whatever reason. Those come with tiny little decals too. My friend sculpted tiny Vipers in-scale. I have the idea to cast them in clear resin and mabe feed a fiber optic into the front with a flickering blue LED. That way I'll have a Viper coming in for a landing. I hope I can pull that off... I've never done anything like that.

Lastly, my friend in PA 3D-printed some of the other ships for me, such as the Colonial Movers ship. I found the logo somewhere on the net, shrunk it down, and printed it onto some clear decal paper.
