Good afternoon,

Although my progress tends to be a little slow at times, it all depends on mood, emotion and motivation.
Today being a good day I thought I should actually put up a progress report on my Dragon Sd. Kfz. 251/16 C Flammenwerfer.

The post shows the 1st spray with dunkelgelb and passes through initial filters and pin washes then some wear and tear, before attaching the 1st side of the lower Hull. I have yet to install the flame gunners seats to each side, once the leather seat pads are made to look a little abused, then the pump and associated piping of the feed system from the large side tanks to the two flame projectors (to be added much later).

Once the current side of the Hull has fully set, I will add the other lower Hull side, before making the floor look like it has seen some use.
There is still lots to do, including assembling two runs of miniscule Dragon Magic single link tracks.

I will feed in on progress as it hopefully goes ever onwards.

John

Thanks for posting. I'm building a 251 as well and I have kinda stalled at painting stage. These pics will help get things going again :)

Hi all, I wish I could be sat on the beach as I love the sunshine, although the heatwave will cause real problems for people.
I have not really touched my build as once again dark clouds gather.
I had a real shock when we found out that my wife has to have chemotherapy as she has a cancer and as you will guess, life has gone up in the air, once again.
I will check in as and when, but wishing you all enjoy our hobby. John

Hi, life tends to slap you in the face when you least expect it. Take care and check in when you can.

I have actually made some progress, well just a leeeetle..........

Moving ever so slowly as I feel knackered so much of the time at the moment.

These really are snaps just to show that I am alive. Too many hours are spent just untangling Dragon instructions and then having to engineer, OK Bodge things to fit.

So the drivers cab and seats are in place, the crewmen/flame gunner seats are in. Having built the pump unit for the napalm guns, I thought it doesn't look sqauddy proof for such an important wagon, only to find a picture of the real 2 stroke engine/pump. Of course the real one sits in a low tray with frame, the ruddy fuel tank that floats in the air, on a single minute plastic pin, falls off for the 20th time. The real mcoy has an extra support. Of course I have already glued it into the Halftrack and as frustration drives me to decide:
A. Throw it out the window.
B. Accidentally drop it on the floor and then step on it as I stand up. (The wife will understand throwing the money away, with that excuse)

Having mopped up hot coffee and changed shirt....

C. Carry on and see how it looks once it is done. The adult way to handle it.

Looking again its an older Dragon kit and the newer ones I have are improved, so I shall suck it and see. The pigments are on the deck, 3 rifles almost ready for their stowage rack. Once the few items are in the Hull top, I can paint and see what it's like.

Thanks for looking,

John

Well it's looking good to me and you're patience is paying off. Every item added to the build is one step nearer to completion. Happy to wait for the final reveal, it's bound to look great as my eyesight will probably be shot by then. He he.

Thanks mate, with everything going on any progress on something other than the Big C has to be a good thing for the mental health. Now back to painting a radio and over the top I know trying to find out how it all connected.
