Finally, the Stuka

Man, them seams musta been horrible? You've posted PLENTY builds so far and for you to have to leave them alone, they musta been bad at first.

It's probably an OCD thing. I just knew that they were there so it was bugging me. Most others probably wouldn't have even noticed them. Got to learn to just leave it be.

Little bit more done. Having a few issues with the front wing seams but hopefully have them filled and sanded enough now. Got to touch in the primer in place's ready for the aluminum base coat.

Progress report. Primed, aluminium base sprayed on, Pre-shading done, underneath sprayed final coat and masked ready for first top coat colour.

Shout out if you spot anything that needs fixing please.

Looks good to go from here.

The only thing I would say is that the landing gear are the same pattern as the top side, not the underside blue. At least thats what I have seen in the pics I have looked at.

Got the underneath masked so I can spray the light green on the undercarriage first then will mask half again to get the dark green up to the wheels.

PE can be a PITA to work with but it really can add a lot to the realism of a model.
if you don't have a diamond file in your arsenal I would highly recommend it; also a set of PE bending pliers. Looking forward to seeing this completed. I built a Stuka back when I was a kid, way before I knew anything about photo-etch or owned an air brush. Don't remember the scale but it was a big model. I gave it a hand brushed camo job, it looked awful in retrospect but I was pretty proud of it at the time.

More masking and final top coat done. Very pleased with the result as no bleeding of colours. Little bit of touching in to do but it's coming together nicely.

Should be interesting as first time for PE. If anyone has any advice on tools for the job it would be appreciated.

On PE I use wide (duck-bill) tweezers and the needle tweezers. I attach the pieces with Gorilla brand super glue and Bob Smith's activator.

And with my butter fingers I have to work very slow and methodical so I don't lose anything.
