Stuka 1/48

Did you wash the build before priming to get off any finger oil? I always use disposable gloves when priming and painting just in case.

Not this time. I just dove straight in.
I use disposable some of the time, which I should use more often.
I'll usually soak the parts in a couple drops of Dawn and water - ¹ to ² drops to 3 cups of distilled water.

I keep distilled water around for my poison dart frogs. I'll spray their enclosures a few times a week.

I've used Post-It notes for the German splinter camouflage, too. Low tack, and you can make sharp edges as desired.
You can also lift the edges just a bit, with knife blade tip or a toothpick, to soften the edges.
I think I'll be doing another stuka in the future. Thanks for the tip.

I have always done german armour but must admit that when I seen your stuka build I am really tempted to have a go. Loved doing aircraft as a kid.
Any recommendations for a kit with decent detailing? I may be led astray just this once.

Recommendation? I really like the Revell B-17G 1/48. It has pretty decent detail but, I added a lot of Eduard PE to the cockpit and bombardier/navigator's area in the nose. However, it is quite large. I think I paid about $20.00 at a local hobby store
The Eduard Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 is a really nice build with a lot of detail. I got from a friend for $30.00
Both are nice, in my opinion.

That Baron is a good idea. I need to paint a couple of straight edges on my latest project and I will certainly give that a try. Thank you.

No, surprisingly enough. I was afraid of that too. I used Vallejo paint.
On my B-17 that is how I achieved paint chipping. I primed it, painted chrome, then camo-green. I let it dry for a day or longer between coats then applied tape and lifted up quickly giving me the desired effect.

These are the only pics I could find. I have a couple more but I cannot find them.
The paint I used was regular Krylon. That is before I have an airbrush.
Those paint chips look good. I will keep that in my memory bank although at my age, perhaps I should write it down somewhere. Lol.

Finishing touch-ups and weathering have started.
Maybe once this is weathered I'll like it better. But for now it's more of a practice model before the 38 Lightning gets here.

The Stuka is finished. This was a basic build with no aftermarket parts. This particular model could have really benefited from PE parts.
Some of the decals did not cooperate so some fell victim to a paper towel grave. RIP.

Nice work, good references for me when I start mine next year.

I said that I was a neat freak so here's the proof.

I decided my bench was getting a little untidy and you know I'm a neat freak so I decided to upgrade it a little bit with the help of a free shelf and comfortable swivel chair from a school we are refurbishing.

I have also put into storage a new desk and new cabinets to go under it from the same job for a future expansion of my workspace.

Free is my favorite 4-letter word. :D
I like you setup and that shelf fits perfectly. A great use of space.
I would like to get another multi-drawer unit. That would surely tidy-up my space, not your version of tidy though lol :D

Your bench(s) looks great!

Thanks for your kind comments. I love free stuff, if only I could find somewhere to get free paint and models I would be in heaven!!
