Revell P61, waiting for the hammer to fall

So I have been behaving myself last week and after more foot surgery Friday I got to spend around 9hrs at the bench yesterday and a few this morning (Sunday). It is a really great way of forgetting your in pain, much better than pills I find. Anyway, posted a few photos.

I have added several weights between the front undercarriage and guns and have also filled the spare fuel tanks with shot. Just hope it's enough to stop the tail droop. Pantherman

I thought this was a P-61 thread and not a Phantom thread?
Seriously? Are you really going to be anal about this. All someone did was mention an F-4 Phantom, I replied and that was the end of it. Lighten up, Francis. The topic got strayed temporarily. Geez….

Hope your foot gets better P. Not a great deal of problems I see yet? Looks like it's going together well?

There is an "ignore" feature that works VERY well here Mr. TimM63. ;)

Speedy recovery my friend.
Looks like some nice progress you've made.

Thank you, should be back to normal in 8 weeks, but that's assuming I was normal to start with !!!!!!!. Plenty of bench time.

I've been looking back at some of my builds and it occurred to me that I'm starting to rush through things. I've built more since Xmas this year than all of last year. I've got to slow down and enjoy what I'm doing, making sure I get the most of the kit. Pantherman

Got some great new detail brushes, bit expensive but well worth it. Pantherman

Ok PUNK-therman... You got me. I actually dug through this to find that piece, DREADING that little paint job and you was just sittin' back gigglin', wasn't you.

As soon as I found the piece, I knew I got got.

It's all about the decals, opps, details. Pantherman

Got a group build going on this kit to see how truly bad it is. Everyone welcome, no start date yet. Pantherman

I am new to this forum and I have never done a group build before. I cautiously look forward to joining this group build. I was digging in my stash a couple of weeks ago and a Monogram P-61 jumped out at me. It's been in my stash so long I can't remember how or where it came from, but I've always instinctively known that there was something not-quite-right about this kit. I paraphrase, but I think it may be true that "there are no bad models, only bad model builders".......whatever, I think I'm up to the challenge, but I will reserve my hammer if things get too rough.

That would probably be good for you to join and you would certainly be welcome to do so...

Except...

This is a Phantom thread.
