Yup…. been to Mystic Seaport Museum over 20 years ago. I do recognize the ship model too.

Yup. Tried rigging one a few months ago. Ended up binning the dang kit. LOL!
I do have a couple biplane kits in my stash - 1/48 scale Revell Stearman and 1/32 scale Academy(?) Sopwith Camel kit. I don't mind tackling rigging a biplane since I do like a challenge. I used black thread for the 1/72 biplane and it doesn't look right. Next time I'll invest on EZ Line for my biplane kits. Oh yeah… rigging anchor points for biplanes will be a definite investment too.
I have watched YouTube videos on how to make your own, I've experimented in doing so and they looked okay but a bit too large to me. Maybe I'm using the wrong wire size. I don't know. Oh well, can't say I didn't try. It was an education and is doable. I'll make my own for the Stearman in a future build.

Here's a couple I've done. They are like anything else you just keep doing them and each one gets better. The only sort of trick is it seems to be easiest to do basically the stuff in line with the masts, then work from one end to the other. I prefer to work front to back but back to front seems to be a little more common.
This is my effort at the Black Pearl, hardest part was soldering up 25 1mm square leds for the lanterns inside. I don't have a photo of it lit, I should take one.
This is the Constitution at 1:96 it's the hardest I've rigged. The model itself is over 6,200 parts all wood or metal. I built it in 1994 and re-rigged it in 2015 because I improved my skills to where I couldn't stand looking at the old rats nest.
