Ahhh...figures...they used to be my favorite subjects, as in 76-80 or so. Those two are very nice.

Painting 1/35 figures killed my mojo on a recent kit because I need to practice more, they kinda suck, but the kit would be odd without them. I need to suck it up and keep trying, wipe 'em down if necessary and try again.

Thanks! I'm still very much a beginner in figure painting. At the moment I just try to keep it simple. Neat base colours. A citadel wash, and then repainting the base colours on the high points to highlight. Really easy. Oh, and a matt coat to dull down the wash.

Those figures look good - you should get them finished. I don't know what that gun is, but it looks excellent. I like your white-wash.

This is my bunker, horseshoe shaped, everything within reach, mostly. Research books on the shelf to the left, from before the inet, paints, tools, kits, all in close proximity. I have two easels for open books or articles or photos right up front. DVD player and TV with plenty of old and new war flicks to watch as I work. Most often whatever subject is being worked on at the time I will have photos pegged to the shelf rails, full immersion is the only way I work.

The photo bench is hard right front, computer being in the next room for pic processing and write-ups. And yes, Osama and Sadam are "hangin out" (upper right) in the bunker, too. The mini refer is below on the right, mainly for my oils between sessions, no beers when painting, that makes for some crummy faces, HA!:p

After coming across this thread earlier today, I decided to take some pics of my modelling room tonight. Here's a panoramic shot through the open door:

At lower left is where I keep my paints in two drawers, acrylics in the open one and enamels plus unopened acrylics in the top one:

And on the right are my spray booth (used for storage of reference materials when I'm not spraying stuff) and portable photo studio that never gets moved anywhere:

I have too many on the go at the moment — as I commented in another thread, I really need to finish that BARV first (the light grey vehicle at the lower left of the workbench shot), and preferably also at least finish building the Churchill Mk. VI I'm also working on, and only then continue with the Piranha …

How do you vent that spray booth, is there a hole in the wall?

Vent what? The spray booth? There is a skylight, you can see it at upper right in the panoramic photo. The spray booth has a hose on the back with a flat plastic thing on the end; I open the window, put the thing through it, and trap it by closing the window again as far as it will go. One downside of this arrangement is that the window faces south, the prevailing wind direction here is southwesterly, and we can get quite fierce storms in autumn and winter — meaning I may have to postpone my airbrushing for a few days sometimes :)

I hear ya, yeah sorry i corrected my post :) I still need to build mine, i live full time in my RV and i never use the stove so i can use that platform (stove top) for the spray booth and use the RV wall vent to vent it, and it already has a fan built in. There is also no pilot light on stove and my (dual fuel) fridge has been replaced with a standard home fridge, so that means no gas is running to the fridge. The only thing i have to be concerned about is the heater is right there under the stove so i cant run the heater and spray at the same time. So like you ill have to pick and choose my painting days. Cant see me painting on a cold day anyway.
