Thanks for the tips. I used a Rustoleum primer on the last model, It worked pretty well Will try others on my next models. My Scotch upbringing says I won't be trying some of the more expensive options, tho.

I think they are artist acrylics. Is there a difference?

This is awkward. I generally ignore introduction posts. I grew up in Colorado in the 40s and 50s. Fishing was an important part of life there. It was eclipsed by hunting, tho. My first hobby is photography. My latest hobby is model cars, 1/25 scale, plastic models. Presently live in...

Adhesion was the main problem. Maybe proper preparation would have helped. I was hoping to find a better way. Using acrylic paints for plastic models is the way to go, apparently.

My source is similar to "https://fluid-painting.com/en/acrylic-paint-on-plastic/". Apparently I have not been preparing the plastic properly. Sanding model kits is not practical. I will continue as I have been, I guess. My impression was that acrylic paint was totally incompatible with...

I haven't searched this question, so I don't know whether it has been discussed. I learned that using acrylic paint is a no-no on plastic. I have used it on several models, but with mixed results. The water cleanup is handy. I do not care for using enamel. Cleaning up is a pain in the rear...

    ANYONE HERE LIKE TO FISH?

I used to fish a lot; don't anymore. Those pix show a lot of nice fish. The biggest trout I caught was about 24 -26 inches inches. I grew up in Colorado--lots of great fishing there. One time I lost a big fish. Using a homemade grasshopper. Good memories.

I don't want to be known as a quitter, but I gave up on the Auburn. Too many problems. Tamiya sounds interesting, but they apparently do not make what I build. Older car models from the 20s and 30s, some from the 40s, 50s and 60s (1/25 scale).

I signed onto this forum to note my problems with plastic car models. I build only 1/25 scale models (after two Lego models). I have built 12 or 15 so far. The current model is a 1935 Auburn boattail speedster; Lindberg is the manufacturer. The problem with it is in the fit of components. I...
