1/35 88mm L71 Flak 41 Anti-Aircraft Gun w/Sd.AH.202 Trailer W.I.P

Coming together great. Those pinwashes really lift out a lot of the details. Which AK product did you use for that?
I recently started out using AK products and I think they are nice but I still do my pinwashes with oils.

Looking forward to the rest and the urge to get this gun my self grows whenever I read through this post. Great work.

Hey Faust, thanks for the kind words! I'm using AK for the first time as well and have never used oils so I not the best guy to explain the differences. The actual product is the OEF wash that came with the OEF set I used on an M-ATV. I'm thinking its working pretty well..

Anyways, I did get some more done. Not a lot, but I've gone back in places where I missed some spots or the pin wash wasn't very thick. Here's some pics as she sits now.

I hope you guys like!!!
Thanks for following along.

Looking cool.

To be perfectly honest, I use my AK stuff almost the same exact way I use my oils, there is hardly any difference to my methods, the only difference is in drying time. When I use oils, it may be days before I go back, with enamels, it's often minutes. At most, hours.

Ya, the AK stuff seams pretty easy to use even though I don't have anything to compare it to, since this is my first real effort at weathering. I must say, now I really understand why you guys like the painting and weathering stages. It seems like a whole lot more fun to me. Almost like the pressure is off, I'm starting to feel more like an artist or something like that.

Hahaha

Except I won't be using AK products or oils to weather it. I'll probably give it a coat of lacquer and try these Lifecolor Tensocroms out.

Looks great Adam!! You said you used the OEF OIF Ak weathering kit? I ordered that a little while ago and I'm still waiting for it to get here. How do you like it?

Now that I know how to use it, I like it a lot. hahaha.

Like I said, I just do what Todd and the boys tell me to. I've found life to be easier that way.

@ Adam
Thanks a lot for explaining which AK interactive product you used. Might have to look into that to see how it works for me.

Alrighty folks, its official, I love weathering!!! I have no idea if it's coming out good or not but I'm having fun messing around with the AK stuff. I also did some Chipping for the first time and messed around with trying to get the blast shield to show some wear down to the steel...

Anyways, here are some pics:

Ya, I think the issue with the first time I tried to weather something (the M-ATV for the BSC) I rushed the process. This time I'm just going slow and having a blast!!!

Thanks for the complements!
