Have at it hoss!!! The nice thing is all of the painting can be left until the very end. I say this because I know you have limited painting resources at the moment.

More the reason for me to start it. ;D

With a baby to boot??? I have a feeling I'm about 9-12 months away from a little one of our own. I'm sure you know what happens when the woman's alarm clock goes off.... haha. "We're having a baby now!"
Haha, yeah for some reason he was tired and went to bed at like 7:00. My wife had school work to grade and I looked around with a lost/confused look and said to myself okay just sneak away slowly ;D That doesnt happen alot. If you two do bring a little one into this world get ready, its a ton of work but its so worth it!

Let's just say I keep telling my wife I don't want to move out of my in-laws house. Call me crazy but I really like living there. Built in Doggie Day Care, Laundy Service, Cook, Maid, Delivery Service. All those things sure will come in handy when we have a little one running around. hahahahaha

Alrighty folks. I got all the details painted up and a nice coat of future on everything.

I'll take pictures once the future is cured.

Then it's weathering time. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Here are some pics of the 88 with the future on it:

Here's what I'm going to start playing with now...
I started trying to lay down a pin wash.

I didn't take pictures, but I also put a filter on the blast shields.
My plan is to continue with the pin wash process. What do you guys think?

That's the ticket there Adam!! Keep going!!! The effect are beginning to show!! ;)

So do I keep doing Pin washes over and over with coats of future in between?

I really am new to this whole weathering process.

I've never done it that way but I think that would be a good idea. If your happy with the first stage of pin wash seal it in with the future and then if you go overboard or mess up at all on the second you could easily remove it and not worry about taking aways that first layer. By the way your pre-shading came out great on this!!!

Looks great dude.

I personally wouldn't seal it, I assume those are AK enamels used for the pin wash? If you are gentle with the thinner (like a very damp brush, not 'wet') your next application wont effect the first.

Try using another color, but not everywhere, just a little corner there, around a few bolts here, then let that dry overnight.

Repeat this a little here and there, very subtle, very slowly. Once you begin to get accustom to how the products react as you work with them, you will be able to do more in one sitting without washing it all away.

Remember, its always easier to just add a little more than it is to take too much off. You're off to a great start man, just go slow and easy, and apply a little each time.

Thanks Ken!!! I've actually been having a ton of fun with the AK stuff. It really is the first time I'm using it. I tried it a little bit on the M-ATV but not successfully.

Anyway, I've been having fun with the AK products.
