1/48 Snowspeeder by Bandai,...."Good shot Janson!"

Hey guys,

Just been working on this one over the weekend,.....brilliant kit,...goes together really well

...although I running into the same issues I had with the AT-ST,....oils & turps make parts split & fall off

I managed to find all parts apart from one on the front slope,.....couldnt have been on a worse place

Anyway,....gonna do this up as Wedge & Wes Snowspeeder

I masked the pilots with latex ([with a drop of paint,...to see where I was masking)

This is the bit that I lost,.....hmmm,....theres model filler in there now,....not the same though

I think I know how to ease the problem,....when pushing the parts together,..they obviously snap tight, putting pressure on the female part....so I think if the joins are looser....ie..if the male parts are thinned down by a blade, so that the join isn't tight,...therefore when the turps hits that area theres no pressure for the parts to split

Parts will need to be poly glued instead of snapped together,.....but that should be no problem,.....thats how regular kits work anyway

There are suggestions on using different weathering paints & thinners,....but I'm settled on this technique & happy with the effect

I think I've fixed the missing part,.....at the minute,...I'll likely go back & fix it some more
