(3rd build, but first soft skin vehicle build.) Fedayeen Technical

Great kit you have there I'll be watching closely your build.
By the way where can you find that kit and is this company producing any other technicals?
Cheers

Looking good so far. I have the same kit under the Trumpeter brand. The vehicle is a chinese airborne jeep sold to various third world armies. Iraq included. I plan to modify mine to carry a DSHK machine gun I purchased.

Oh! Using a 12.7 mike, mike, that's a good find! Post me a link when you get to work on it. :)

I found my technical @ my local hobby shop. You can find some on ebay, actually the kit is made by Trumpeter when I found it's trade mark under it's body. What I really wanted was a Pick-up truck at scale 1/35, so I can convert to a technical. Like this photo:

I don't think anyone makes one at 1/35 :(.

haha i new that would get a response from you ;D you need to let the bubles stop to form the head the head shuld be bigger. next can you pour, pour about 70-75% of the glass give it a few mins to settle then fill the rest thats how a pint of it is pulled.

ive often seen americans grab the glass before its finished being served to them.

oh yes i never liked it. only beer i ever drank was hieniken. and i dont even drink that now. i gave it up years ago

Much better stouts out there than the tasteless Guiness!

Kit is looking good so far!!

That's pricey! When I have extra cash, I'll go for it.

my latest update! As you can see the body work that needs to be made and airbrushed the body using Testor's enamel paint. It's called, "sand" and I didn't need to use thinner because it's mixed for airbrushing. I had no difficulty what so ever. After the body work dried, I was pretty happy that no depression showed up on the body.

I also finished the recoiless rifle too. Build and painted it while the technical was drying off. It took me a few hours to put it together and paint brushed. I used gun metal metalizer. Meant for airbrushing, which I found to be very forgivable for painting with a brush!

that sand looks pretty decent. glad to see you progressing nicly with it

Hey,
Thanks’ for the info. I also have news for you there is a Chinese company called Meng and they are doing a Toyota Hi Lux technical in 35 scale. I saw a review and it looks like it's a really good quality kit. I'm also looking for it now.

Thanx for the info! I'll search the net for that company. Spud posted that MIG productions made one, which cost $70 Euros or about $90-100 American I believe.

Looking good so far. Do you plan to use any figures or put this in a dio?

Yes I do! The figures that came with the kit were too regular army looking. You can't really pose them, like holding the AK. The figures in the box are in a sitting position and one loader standing up. I'm still looking for insurgent looking figures from Iraq and dress them up as Fedayeen. They were black BDU's mostly, equipped with soviet gear.

The first candidate is this:

or
boxtop.jpg
or
migmp35-317.jpg

MIG and Master box are strong contenders. The insurgent wearing the tank top looks like a 80's action movie refugee. Totally not going for it :-X!
MIG is a strong choice cuz they serious looking or action.
