Here's one of the kits I currently have in the pipeline.


Not able to use the decals, so I'll have to come up with a solution later. Might steal from a newer kit in the stash.

Great job on that old kit, especially adding some of those missing interior details!

I have the more recent retooled 1/72 one and I can see how much they improved it

I prefer to try to use the decals in these old kits if I can, even if they're a bit yellow and brittle. I put the sheet on the windowsill in the sun for a few hours to remove some of the yellowness first.

SO I sprayed the model with Future Floor Wax in preparation for decals, but forgot to paint the anti-glare panels. The acrylic olive drab reacted to the floor wax and crackled. I'm calling it "weathering".

With the framing so small, I thought masking the canopy would be difficult so I decided that I would try to use strips of Bare Metal Foil instead. It proved to be equally as difficult.




I'll brush some matte clear over it so its not so shiny.

This is awesome, this is exactly the reason I'm here on this forum to see how other modelers boss their way through problems....bravo, looks great, gives it more 3D and looks like a window frame....will consider this myself on my B-36 I have waiting in the wings.

Thank you and agreed. I've only been on here a couple months but have learned a lot from the guys that walk you through their builds, even pointing out their mistakes. Lots to share and learn here.

I remember building this kit when I was 9 or 10.
Never came out looking like this though!

Did you cover the wings with glue and light in on fire first?.....that's what me and my little brother did with B-17.

BMF frames look great,...next time, before you cut your pieces give them a swipe or two with a Scotch Brite pad, .
I tried it on the engine shrouds here, and it takes alot of the shine out
