No answer directly, but I think F9F guys will be in the same boat as the F-100 through F-106 fans...

Few companies are still making those old birds.

Kits are available, but they are older (crappier) and probably cost more than when new.

Sorry that I cannot recommend a specific kit, but here's a few that have been made in the last 25 years.

There are some 1/72 kits of F9F- 8 out there. I prefer 1/48 scale! That leaves With Kitty Hawk"s F9F-8 which can be built as an 8P. KH is out of business, but you can still find them. My understanding is that they are difficult builds; but with patience a skilled modeler can produce a fine representation of the Cougar.

I have one in my stash. The box is full of plastic, lots of detail. I hope to build it, but I am running out of time!
