Bronze for the 109

Also Bronze for the SBD1 Dauntless

Commended for the Sioux Indian bust ....I was well happy ;D ;D

Chris.

Congratulations on your wins. Competition must have been tough.
Very nice 109.
Congrats!
Bill

Thanks Bill , the competition was tough ,some fantastic work on display . I dropped from Gold to Bronze simply because the aircraft were not on a base ( IMSS rules ) ....but I will know next time ,Judges told me the builds / paint were flawless and the lack of base was the only reason for dropping 10 points each .
But Im not complaining ,Im very happy ...didnt expect anything to be honest ;D

Chris.

Chris congratulations! Don't these judges know these birds can't fly with their bottoms stuck to the ground? I know I've said it before but you display Masters work continuously. Congratulations again my man.

Thanks Anthony ..you're too kind :)

I have to say ...It wasnt the judges fault . They had to follow the Hosts criteria ,and had to mark accordingly .Had it been left to them ,the two aircraft would have been gold ,so Im happy knowing that and next time I'll just set them on a mirror like a lot of people seemed to do ...well ...its a base ;D

Chris.

Very well done Chris. great new. Seen some pics posted yesterday, looked to be a very good show with some nice work displayed. Wish I could have gone. Aidan

Thanks Aidan , it was a good weekend mate ,there isloads of pics posted in the show section on this site ;)

Chris.

I'm sorry, but I have to say this, Not having a base cost you a gold medal has got to be one of
the "Most Stupid" things I've ever heard. Mandatory Drug Testing should be done for those involved
in codifying that little gem of a rule. You're more understanding than me, I'd be on the warpath.......
start a petition to remove that imbecilic rule. Bill

Hi Bill,

I appreciate what you're saying ,and talking to the judges they were very annoyed about it too .The thing is they had to follow the Irish Model Soldier Society (IMSS) rules . The IMSS comp was mainly a figure comp ,but over the last few years it has been dominated with Armor and ,this time there was more Aircraft than anything .They were'nt really sure about a criteria for the aircraft and indeed only put 1/48 into a class of its own on the Friday before the show ,they were originally mixed in with 1/32 & 1/24 ...which would be really unfair .The base thing is just one of their rules ,my own fault really for not checking ,but I was only entering for a bit of fun while there .Im happy with the knowledge that in the judges opinion ..and I quote 'The Dauntless should be the outright winner for the class ' The 109 would also be Gold .You can tell how close the comp was tho when 10 points for no base knocked them both back to Bronze ! there was some excellent work on show .
So ..like I say ,Im very happy getting any award and knowing that my Dauntless was the best in class . I'll know next time tho ;)

Thanks for the comments Bill.

Chris.

Thanks Gag ,and thanks for looking in ;) ....Yeah ..'Hands of gold' ...that will be Anthony :) ....too kind .

Chris.

Wow Chris. I've been away for a few weeks and missed out on the final pictures - I'm just getting caught up now. Congrats on the wins, I think you definitely deserve it for the ONE-OH-NINE!

Looking forward to the next builds you have in the queue.

Thanks a lot Jason :) ...good to see you about too ;)
