I am building this kit as a surprise for my grandpa. Who worked for De Havilland then Hawker Siddeley as it became. He worked on the Blue Streak missile's abort system and borrowed a the plans of a certain mostly wooden WWII plane. But the real reason I'm building to for him has to say thank you for answering my questions about plains in general and being such an inspiration to me. I will stop boring you all now lol

I'll be watching this one with interest .I have a few personal interests in the Buccaneer myself :)

Chris.

only had one small niggle so far and that it the underbelly part doesn't quite fit right it only a small gap. but im going to take it slow :D

Hey Darkblade88, for all the reasons to build a model, this is the best I can think of...as a gift for
a loved one. I appaud your endeavor! Good luck.

Can anyone tell me what colour the cockpit interior was ? Because the directions say black but I've seen photos with like a blue Gray or a sort of green Gray just asking so I know far enough in advance

I think you'll be safe with black if you want to use it ,they were Black ,they were however also ...interior green or Light gray ,so I guess ..take your pick of the three ,I dont think you'll be wrong ;)

after the unfortunate loss of the hurricane. I'm planing on working on this again slowly. so here's a question. Dose anyone know where I should look for After market ejector seats for the is. seeing at the kit one's are rubbish. Plus I think its about time it had a go at A.m stuff

It is the 1:72 airfix kit the only real niggle I have with the its the weapon pylons be cause there engraved panel lines when the rest are raised.

i have the gulf war release version and i did notice that as well. the new tool parts are recessed. i need to become better at scribing panel lines before i tackle mine as i want to rescribe everything.

I hope Airfix bring it out all engraved panel lines some time soon. At this rate I'll be building it OOB. but possably know seeing as I'm doing this a an ongoing thing

thank you for the support the putty just flaked off but I'm going to be putting it on a resin base. I'm seeing quite a few fit issues with it at the moment

Darkblade88 I think this is a great idea building this for your Grandfather. I have no doubt he will be thrilled when you present it to him. He'll understand that have taken the time to construct this specifically for him so he will cherish it even more. Such a wonderful gift. No joke if my grandfathers were still with us I would have built for them as well.
