Canadian ban on Tamiya spray paints?

I'll do one better… I wish the Biden-Kamala regime would close the border and stop sending migrants to sanctuary cities like New York for one.

The reason for the exodus out of California and New York is because of the governors and the woke policies. Folks are leaving Florida too because of too many people retiring there.

Not all are moving just to Texas, they're moving to Arizona.
My understanding is the Governor of Texas is sending them to the cities that support open boarders. I agree with that choice, even tho I don't like it. Last I looked 13-18,000 a year have been moving to Idaho as well. Was looking at moving there a few years ago until I found that out. At this point in my life I would like to live outside of a town with 1-2000 people. When I was still in schools years ago I wanted to live on 500 acres, as I got older it changed to 1000. Now I would like 5000 acres lol.

I use Tamyia paints all the time and I know a few people that use the rattle cans here in the UK. Apart from taking the normal precautions of using a mask and good ventilation there is no problem with it. It interesting to see the banter between the states and it's good to know that it's not just us that suffers all this woke stuff.

It is true and it's supposedly not really the ingredients. Tamiya won't send Canadian officials the correct MSDS/MDS, so Canada dropped the hammer. Any imports will be confiscated and destroyed.

Rob.

Nope. You're not alone. Liberals has logic gone out the door for years.

I'm in Central Florida and the housing market is nuts. Rental prices have skyrocketed to astronomical monthly rates due to the large amount of people moving here. Even though the rent amounts are abusive they still get scooped up by renters. Same for home sales.

First time seeing this discussion and by coincidence, I visited two hobby stores on Tuesday.
Stores that I have never been to before.
I'm in southern Ontario (Canada).

Both stores had extensive selections of Tamiya paints.
I even stopped to check the prices of the bottles (in both stores).

While I did not specifically investigate, there was also a large selection of assorted Tamiya spray paints.
I saw clears, primers and colours.

So whatever "ban" you are talking about ...?

We in the UK are charged shipping in line with the price of the product. I use both enamels and acrylics. My local hardware store sell only Plasti-Kote products that are enamels. I find the code for the colour or clear and he orders three spray cans from the supplier and they come in on a Wednesday, so no shipping cost! If I go to Hobbycraft the only craft shop in the area that is a 30 mile round trip. They sell Tamiya kits and enamel and acrylic paints and Plasti-Kote enamels.

It's specifically aerosols (see the earlier post on the first page), the rattlecans, and not Tamiya's jars of paint.
The cans in the stores are probably existing stocks. From the notice that Tamiya posted, it sounds like it covers shipment of new stock. It's not clear if merchants were directed by your government to remove existing stock from the shelves, though.

I'm aware the ban discussion relates to Tamiya SPRAY paints,
thats why I specifically said "...there was also a large selection of assorted Tamiya spray paints. I saw clears, primers and colours."

I checked out the online supplier I use, Sunward Hobbies, who are based here in southern Ontario.
They still have Tamiya spray paints for sale.
I sent them an email asking if there is any sort of ban.

Sunward Hobbies https://www.sunwardhobbies.ca/ (a great online supplier of hobby materials) sent me this:

The Canadian Distributor can't release cans to retailers for now. Includes TS, PS, AS, and most primers. This is due to the cans not meeting regulation that have been in effect for 20 years (environmental). So what we have now is all there is available.

On top of this, the distributor has set a deadline of December 31 (or soon after) to return all products to them. Retailers may decide to carry what they have on hand, but retailers will return some as they are slow sellers.

Retailers may also return stock to avoid being stuck with them and not able to sell or return the products for full credit.

What there is now is all there will be. No time frame for Tamiya stock to return. This may take some time as some formulas may need to be redone. Tamiya may also decide not to make any changes to sell in the Canadian market.

Some cans may be sold, but there is no stock for now.
