So I am going to build an early tiger 1 from an Andy's 1/16 kit and a late tiger 1 from a hobbyboss kit in 1/16.

The plan is to use the leftover pieces from Andy's kit plus a bunch of pe upgrades on the late tiger build. Should be no problem since I will have a lot of parts left from Andy's kit plus the pe parts.the Andy's kit I will build as the most or best accurate to the early and will be this ...

Very nice, I'll be following along. A 1\16 Tiger I is on my list for a future build, once I finish a 1/200 USS IOWA battleship.
Do either of these kits have interiors?

The 1/16 versions do not unfortunately.... But hey it's 1/16 so that makes it worth it to me.

They do have a few aftermarket things out there though and the Andy's kit anyways hasbparts in the front hull some and a full gun in turret with a seat... I might build it some with some scratch stuff... At least the turret possibly.

The hull I don't think you can see much through those front hatch's so... It also includes the rear fans so on that will be seen through the grates on the back.

I mean you could go with a trumpeter one but be prepared to spend more than what two tanks cost the way I'm doing it. For the trumpeter just one would cost more than my two.

Ya, my 1/16 King Tiger and Panzer IV are Trumpeter, alot of money but great kits.
Andy's is great.......AFV Modeler ( in England ) also has alot of 1/16 armour parts and accessories, especially German.

Yeah I mean it's going to create some work getting that hobbyboss kit right but I think I can do it and, I would have both versions then. Will be a challenge some parts but why not. Will be interesting lol.

Yeah I'm looking around some for stuffstill so. But don't want to go too crazy with it... Will barely see anything I do on the interior so... Just what's through hatch's.

As stated goal is a early tiger so... I will be doing a flapper valve only without top covers like they had on most tunisa tigers. Here are the mods .. just need pins and chain later... Flappers open as in Operation. Early flappers used.

Nice and clean!
Will be watching too. If I ever build a tiger, it would be the early version, Tunisia.
Looks like 1/16 gives you detail, without needing cheaters to see 'em and teeny tweezers to handle them. I like.

Still need tweezers some but I get it lol. And the way I'm going it may be a tunisa version but need more references if I'm going to do that.

I went with the earliest rear deck plate too soatchs the flappers only idea. I'm actually looking like the pieces so on as adding. Basically I'm going with earliest I can do.

This is going to be nice to follow. I was in Andy's the other day and he had a couple 1/16 tanks built. Man those things are big

You can see the gun from the drivers area so... Decided to do a floor and the bulkhead for front interior area...
Is the intention to add a partial interior for what you can see through the hatches, or just to blank off the rest of the hull so you can't see that anymore?

I ask because if you want to add an interior for the driver's compartment, on a real Tiger that didn't have a bulkhead and it didn't have a floor :)

It's just cleaning up the view through that hatch is all. Making a cleaner view there is the only goal. The amount you can see is miniscule. Very hard to see anything so in all actuality I may just close that hatch up

In that case, just painting the whole inside black would probably achieve what you're after already, without the need for plastic card :)
