Hi all,
Just found you today and thought I'd join in. My name is Christine and years ago I had models as in the Revell horses etc. and my favorite was an Aurora horse I had gotten at age 7, White Stallion, Outlaw of the Plains.
I then got deep into the model horse hobby (Breyers, already assembled) and showing those since I was a kid. I customize them (cut them apart to rebuild new horses), paint them and show them. I have taken up photography of the models to show them and started building dioramas. That is how I got back into the scale models.
I also used to build car models, Corvettes. I don't know whatever happened to them.
Anyway I happened upon a photo of the Aurora horse and decided to try and find another. It turns out Atlantis has brought him back out and I immediately ordered him. I am working on his seams and the such before I paint him. I then started looking at other models and have since purchased two Verlinden Productions models, a Master Box Yankee Scout and Tracker and a Miniart Village Workshop. This will be it until I get them built and to my satisfaction. I have a tendency to collect things then not finish them up .
I enjoy looking at what others build, especially if it is placed in a scene. I am looking for great ideas for scenery that doesn't require kits. I am looking for ideas and tips and inspiration. I have a keen interest in history, Native American, early American history and WWII and beyond. I don't build these type models but enjoy seeing them and learning more. I also love Railroading, the dioramas are great.
