Hello there, my name is Yvan, and I'm a Sci-fi Model Builder...
I've seen lights and fun here so I come to say "Hello, where's the beer ?" or something like that.
I began to build models when I was 8 or 9 years old with Airfix, Matchbox and Monogram models. The Airfix ones were Dinosaurs, even an Orion from 2001 a space odissey (my very first kit), and the Lunar Module 1:72. Modern fighters from Monogram, 1:48 with the F-16 and the F-18. I built the Heller kits (Battle in the Cévennes and a French Helicopter) of my Uncle, he was so impressed that he offered me his tools and paints.
Years later, in 1985, I had the opportunity to buy Robotech model kits and Star Wars model kits. I built a lot those days, and learn a lot too... I had no more time to build in the 90's since I was involved in the making of a Fanzine, and then a Magazine about Animation and Manga. But I never quit the model making, doing some robot models or starships one at a time. In the years 2000 I decided to make more of my models since i had more and more in my rooms.
The Macross Hasegawa's models were the perfect opportunity to do it again, with more quality and fun. Then i began to build more of my Star Wars and Star Trek kits, even kitbashes.
For the past 4 years i developped some skills in that matter. Doing essentially Galactica, Star Wars and Star Trek inspired kits.
That, if you're OK with it, will be the next step to my "hello" part : showing you some of the kits i've done for the past 30 years.
Regards,
Yvan
