HMS Victory Revell 1/146

Looking really like show level, great job. Yeah that was pretty jerky of them to put that text on the deck like that. I would stick a lifeboat or cannon ball rack over it, that sucks. Did you make those curled up ropes, if so what did you use?

The ropes were cast on the deck already. Pantherman

Got the main masts done ready for fitting. Front mast finished but I will leave this until last to fit.

Added the boat's to the main deck and made a start on the windows, still got to straighten them up a bit. Pantherman

Masts in place and have started to tidy up the windows. Next will be the rigging but the destructions suck so I might have to wing it. Pantherman

Do you want to reference the instructions from mine for the rigging? They are basically the same ship (yours has extra decks), maybe that will help.

Also did you have any issues with the rat lines breaking on you?

That's a lovely looking build - very nicely done. I've been down to the Victory a number of times, or my daughter has anyway as she's mad on the Tallships.

I'll have to show this build thread - she'll love.

Thanks for your kind words. I am surprised at how much I have enjoyed building this, so much so that I have added a bigger scale model of the cutty sark to the stash wishlist. I'm hoping santa will see I have been a good boy this year. Pantherman

I have the 1/144 Cutty Sark and the 1/72 Golden Hind to build - I've yet to build up the courage as yet though lol!

Ooooh, 696 parts!

I'd consider it but have three WWI biplanes in my on-deck circle and anything else with rigging might be too much.

I have finally decided to start the rigging and sails on the old girl as I have a couple of weeks off over Xmas. Looking forward to this in a weird way as I know it's going to be mega frustrating. Pantherman

Added a few sails to inspire me to get on with the rest of the rigging. Getting there a bit faster than I thought. Pantherman

Beautiful!

As a teenager I remember building on a model of the Bluenose fishing schooner, and trying not to sew my fingers together at my mom's sewing machine, working on the sails.

This is looking quite majestic!
