Hobby Boss A-10 Thunderbolt II 1/48

im having issues with my dragster... so i know how frustrating it cam be when a build is just not going your way... you want it to look nice, but in the end things don't go togther as they should, or at least as you think they should and its frustrating.

Unfortunately I won't be able to work on this for a while; summer is over and I'm headed back to uni. I just need some time to get settled in again, and moved, but I'll be back at it! Now I just have to pack it up really nice and safe and ship it to meet me there.

Awe man, I was really watching this one. Good luck at school!

After one and a half excruciating months, I was finally re-united with my modelling stuff.

I'm back, baby!

And my new bench is super clean and tidy to boot 8)

Chris.

I have done a LOT OF WORK since I last posted but it's been things like coats of gloss and painting little things where the decals didn't quite work and honestly it looks basically the same...so I won't post a photo...but I'm a lot closer to being done!

For instance the white spot on the nose, the decal didn't work at all (the nose is too curvy), so I had to paint it instead: I had to put down the white and wait for it to cure completely, then decals (the hawg's nostrils) , and decal setting solution and wait for that do settle, and then a clear coat over top. That seemingly simple little task took 3 days.

Now though I just have to do my panel line wash, a top finishing coat of matte and then add the few little fiddly bits and a little weathering and I'm done!

Hey it may have kicked you around a bit but from here it looks nice- I have a 25 year old A-10 in 1/72 I have rebuilt 3 times. It just gets better. Hang on...

It's really getting there!

I'm very excited because this will be my first ever completed 48th scale project.
