Hello all, from the Central U.S..
Getting back into the hobby...albeit slowly... after life events in 2008 forced me to put it aside. Back then, Facebook was the beginning of social media, the 1/48 Tamiya Viper was fire, and Afterburner Decals were king.

I just purchased my first 'new tool' kit since that time...the 1/48 Meng F-18E Super Hornet. Back in 2019 I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to fuel and get walk-around photos of the Tomcatters CAG jet, and since that time, I have always wanted to build it and display it alongside hi-res photos. I'm currently acquisitioning the resin bits, and forcing myself to let go of the Model Master enamels, and make the transition to Atom Acrylics. (Fingers crossed)
New house, need carpet friendly paint.. XD

My main modeling interests are :
Vietnam to current military aircraft
Motorsports of all types
Classic Hot rods/Musclecars

Anyway, I sincerely look forward to getting inspiration from all of you amazing artists here, seeing your work, and learning new techniques and (hopefully) getting the opportunity myself to share what I have learned during my building years.

Take care and see you around!

Hello from the Central US! Nice to meet you!

I'm finally starting to get back into the hobby...albeit slowly... after life events forced me to set it aside during 2008.
Back then, Facebook was the beginning of social media, the 1/48 Tamiya Viper was fire, Afterburner Decals were king, and my scale modeling hangout was Zone-Five.net. :D
About a month ago, I purchased my first 'new tool' kit, selecting the 1/48 Meng F-18E Super Hornet. Back in 2019, I was fortunate enough to get my own walk-around photos of the Tomcatters CAG jet. Since that time, I have been wanting to build the jet as I photographed it, and display it alongside hi-res photos.

I'm in the process of acquiring the resin bits and begrudgingly loosening my grip on my trusty Model Master enamels and transitioning to Atom Acrylics (Fingers crossed).
New carpet...need carpet friendly paint! :D

As you might have guessed, my interests are Vietnam-current US combat aircraft, but anything Auto/Motorsports related, 1960's to current, also piques my interest.

I'm very much looking forward to making some new friends, possibly reconnecting with old ones, seeing the talent, being inspired, and exchanging new ideas and techniques. My hope is that you feel likewise.

I'll see you around!

LOL
I guess 2 more incoming ?
I think I got 4 push notifications back when you were trying to post this intro .

Seems to be about a quarterly event .
One lucky new member gets their intro sucked into the void .

The duplicates usually post all at once , so you are extra special ;) .
Give it another day I guess to see how many more are inbound , then you can DM Blackbeard and he can erase the duplicates .
He is the sole admin .

LOL... Ya know.. I'm often told that I'm a "Special kind of....' and it's usually followed with some colorful language. :D

Thanks for the tip on reaching out to Blackbeard!

You can use the " contact us " down at the bottom of the page too , I guess .
It's a one man operation so I assume he'll see it either way .
I always DM him .
