All right, then.
After two and a half YEARS, I am going back to my ultimate "shelf queen."
I'm picking back up, and planning to finish, the 1/500 or 1/1000 (depending on sources) Revell USS Enterprise from Star Trek Into Darkness.

We start with where we left her back then


Wired in the final lights for the secondary hull, which include the lights for the hull itself and the flasher for the final navigation lights



Secondary hull gets buttoned up. Wires and fibers are in place for the nacelles which are up next

Work continues on the Enterprise.

Inner nacelle halves are glued into place to facillitate getting the wiring for the lights into place



Nacelle lights in place, along with the endcaps and inserts.
Inserts and endcaps are painted with a blue wash.
I'll fill the detail lights with Krystal Clear after final assembly




Got the inner nacelle fans assembled and ready to go into place.
Domes were painted with a blue wash


A 'preview' of how the nacelles will look in the final assembly


Major assembly almost done. Just about six pieces left to install at this point.
I've used Microscale's Micro Mask to protect the installed clear pieces as well as the detail lighting on the back of the saucer spine



Okay, ran into a problem with the port nacelle.
The halves were actually overlapping and had to be split open to be redone.
I also had to reinstall the inserts, as they popped free while I was splitting the nacelle open

Real quick update on the build here.

Model gets a base coat of black to act as both primer and final light block



Model was then given a coat of Testors "White Lightning" lacquer over the black to act as a base coat



Gave the model one more coat of the White Lightning, then removed the masks.
The Deflector was masked, then painted in with a couple of coats of Vallejo Gunmetal followed by Vallejo Brass
