Re: ISD "Avenger" [WIP]

Thanks for Your interest, thestickyone. I always wanted to make this kit EXTRA detailed, from the very time I first got it in my hands, so I'm planning to push even more into all those "guts on the outside" ;)

Well, guys.. I returned! ;D

It was quite a challenge for me to decide, in which topic to post this all, as there are several words I'd like to express. But finally I thought to post it all here, as this is the topic in which I'm now making my updates, so let it be a new updating.

Lots of impressions. LOTS.

First of all it is of coarse the ending of the SMA Big Spring Contest (who could have doubt that? =) )
Thank You everyone so much, guys! THANK YOU! Thanks to Scott and the SMA team for holding such a great contest, thanks to all the guys who helped me with inspiration during my building of the entry, to everyone who enjoyed it and voted for it, and of coarse to all of you, Scale Model Addicts, as without you, all the guys making this outstanding site alive such a great event would be impossible.

I've finished watching the results videos seconds ago, and I'm still full of emotions. Great stuff, and biggest congrats to all the winers!

To tell the truth, I can't say I didn't manage to get some spoilers :-[ ))
After receiving a congratulation mail from Scott, I asked my father to watch all the videos (terrible web traffic in places I've visited - I would have lost tons of money during those days the videos should have downloaded) and tell me what exactly did I win, in order to answer the letter :) But still watching this all personally is a blast! :)

And additional thanks to ModelManTom with his awesome LEDpack price and all the guys who voted for me in getting it - my mouth was watering from the first seconds I've learned about this price, and I promise to make some incredible stuff with it ;)

Ok, all thanks are in place, now about the latest progress. Actually none of the real one so far. I had a great trip and excellent time, and during missing my workbench decided on several ways of mounting my star destroyer, but to show anything I have to make them live first, so please give me a day or two to settle down a little bit, guys))

In a meantime, here are some pics, guys, for you to enjoy the beauties of the Tulskaya - area (about 180 km on the South-West from Moscow).

Re: ISD "Avenger" [WIP]

Nice pics Solander and congrats on the comp! You of all people can certainly make use of that light pack! Now get back to that star destroyer!

Re: ISD "Avenger" [WIP]

Nice pitures :) I like the foggy one. Thanks for sharing. Sbassibo :)

Re: ISD "Avenger" [WIP]

Great images there, Solander. Congratulations on your fine wins. The Tyderium was amazing. Voted it no. 1 myself.

Looking forward to seeing the modelmantom lights in action.

Re: ISD "Avenger" [WIP]

Beautiful pics.
And you deserved your winnings. You earned them

Re: ISD "Avenger" [WIP]

Those photos are very nice.
:)
Actually the terrain there looks very similar to the region in which I live (the Pacific North-West U.S.A.)
and CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WIN....

;)

Well, close geographical parallels, close-looking nature ;)

Re: ISD "Avenger" [WIP]

Hi, folks!
Took me a little bit longer than I've expected to settle everything down with the destroyer's base, but now it is ready and here is a small video update.
I'll upload some high-rez additional pics later today after returning back from work.

Star Destroyer [WIP#1]

Re: ISD "Avenger" [WIP]

A very nice update, and a nice look around where you live.

Re: ISD "Avenger" [WIP]

This is such a good design, those magnets must make life easier, especially when you start the lighting! And as Grendels said its nice to see the view! And the base/stand is looking great aswell :)

Re: ISD "Avenger" [WIP]

Really beautiful city you live in Sol.

Very nice piece of engineering with the magnets as well as the stand. Very well thought out.

This is gonna look sweet when it's primered, not to mention when it's finished and lit!

Great job!

Re: ISD "Avenger" [WIP]

Yes, amazing work. One of THE best AMT Avengers I've ever seen, and you're still building! Very smart with the use of magnets and the mounting rod too. Totally cool.

Re: ISD "Avenger" [WIP]

Hey, thanks a lot for the compliments, friend! :)

After rewatching the video I've found that after all the small details I had been trying to show made it to be in focus (like the Tantive) So here is just a little bit of additional pics of what I'm currently working on. And its the upper side of the bridge area. Few, I'm starting to get tired of this superdetailing, must turn to something else like drilling holes or finish it faster ;D

Re: ISD "Avenger" [WIP]

i do applaude you for your patience up to this point making all the details. i wouldve been burnt out awhile ago! gunna be ALOT of fiber optics too?

Re: ISD "Avenger" [WIP]

Man! You've put so much into this. Just keep going! Don't give in to boredom, that leads to the dark side. Oh wait, or was that anger?

Well anyway, keep up the good work, only a small amount of greebling left! You're doing an awesome job, mate! :)

Re: ISD "Avenger" [WIP]

Excellent work here.
Your patience is paying off, and will pay off in the end.

Thanks for the look around your place, as well
