And talking about uniforms, simple question: which type of US camo should I use?

Left pattern. IIRC, the right pattern was deemed ineffective and stricken from use in combat zones… A HUGE boondoggle, sadly. I'm not so sure the urban patterns wouldn't have worked though, at least in low light conditions. But you can't expect a soldier to carry multiple BDU's waiting for the right time to use them. Or even if reversible, having the opportunity to pull that switch off…

And your finished scene looks AMAZING, Mr GCB! You're going to need a bigger display at the rate your going! Not a bad problem to have .

Any chance this one or any of the previous ones will be traveling to AMPS Nats at Camp Hero, PA in May or IPMS Nats at Hampton, VA in Aug?

You don't need to — what you do, is issue them a uniform in a colour or pattern that fits the environment they will be operating in. All the rest of the colours and patterns can stay in warehouses.

The idea behind UCP was that it would be effective in as many environments as possible, thereby saving the cost of having to have multiple sets of uniforms in different colours and/or patterns. Unfortunately, it was only effective in a very limited range of environments, and elsewhere often stood out more than it blended in. I read things like US Army soldiers on exercise with those of other countries being told to stay behind so they wouldn't give the unit away purely by their uniform being so visible, for example. This video is quite telling in that regard:
