Meng HMS HOOD toon

@GCB and @Calico Jack , have done due diligence in response, and as best as I can ascertain, Royal Navy eschewed painting the name on the hull, rather they used pennant numbering system to identify ships.
In the case of Hood, as a battle cruiser there would not have been a prefix letter, only her number, 51.
So stay tuned as I need to add vertical stays to fly the two pennants, '5' & '1'

@PatW , thanks for your enthusiastic approval.

It means a lot, because as I dug into the history of the pride of the Royal Navy, and her tragic sinking, I worried that perhaps a 'Toon' might be offensive to some.
That's when I decided to go ahead, and give it my best shot, with proper care and a few extra details, as my show of respect for the Navy in which she served, the grand ship herself, and the men who lost their lives in the service of their country.

Cheers,
Brian

Everything is offensive to someone, somewhere at any time.
I think most roll with the slapstick pratfalls, but the few always succeed to throw a banana peel into the marathon

These Meng toon models are fantastic...I just wish they weren't so well made as kits (because they come from China). lol

I watched this thread with glee because I did not know there are ship toon models.
I am currently re-building a Lancaster bomber(toon) that I bought probably 10 years ago.

I'm also building two Meng Toon Tanks that I recently purchased from China.
I believe it was the Tank models that started things, since the designs came from a video game "World War Toons".
Meng agreed to create plastic model versions of the characters from the show.

A true Brit is the first to laugh at things including history, no matter how terrible...if we can't laugh about things, then what's the point of living.
To laugh at oneself is also a tonic for a better laugh.

GREAT JOB on this boat!
