Put this Tamiya 1:35 kit together last year. I'm using this as my build thread for my entry in this years Open category

Thanks for looking.

Scratch built air intakes, spring for the barrel support, tow cable and applied anti-slip using Mr. Surface and fine aquarium sand.

I used the Eduard PE set and Fruil tracks.





Tried out doing some prepainting to create tonal differences in the main color; I think it was pretty much lost.

Thanks, Necro. It's the first kit I'd finished in almost 20 years. And a lots of other firsts, an armor kit, scratch building, weathering.... I'm very pleased with the results.

Thanks Nick. Investigate using sandpaper before trying my technique, like Jaitea did : http://www.scalemodeladdict.com/SMF/index.php/topic,12103.0.html

He got a more consistent texture, mine has bald spots, but mine seems to have a rougher grit, don't know which I'd do if I do another Merkava.
