Starting the next build up with a little OOB review.
I'll be working on the Moebius Models 1/32 Cylon Raider from the re-imagined battlestar Galactica.

All in all, I'm fairly impressed with the kit. It's a fairly nice representation of the revised Mk2 Cylon Raider as first seen in Season Three of the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica.

The kit has a good amount of detail, just based on what I've seen without test fitting anything together as of yet.
The "eye" and engines have clear inserts to allow for lighting.
The rest of the kit looks to be fairly well engineered for ease of assembly and only a few possible seam line issues.
Panel lines are all engraved, and seem to be accurately placed

Only real niggles I have with it so far are the raised Cylon insignia on the wings, and the raised trademark info on the bottom.
Luckily, both of these are solved easily enough.
There are no decals with this kit, but Starship Modeler has the insignia available from their online store.

I'll start building it fairly soon here.

Just saw your review and was hoping you would tackle this one next. This kit is on my wish list. Can't wait to see the build up.

Looks like a nice kit, I will have to track it down as soon as I make room for another in my stash.

Nice review. I prefer that 'head' to the previous one too.

I also look forward to you building it, Q.

Nice.
I'm looking forward to following this build; the Raider is on my build list.

"Boy, when you take a souvenir, you don't screw around"

i'm at work at the moment, so i cant look at the review... i only have two questions; how much was it and where did you get it from?

It really looks like a "toss in a tube of glue, shake the box and have the built model fall out"! I'm looking forward to getting one of my own!

Thanks for the comments, guys.
Yeah, it pretty much flew together.
Still needs paint at this point, but I'm working on that

Very cool. This might be a nice kit for a rainy Scottish summer weekend. 8)

Mine shipped today! Can't wait to start this..Looking forward to how you tackle the painting! Thanks for the videos..they are a great help!

Thanks Q for reviewing this kit.... I bought a 1/48 a few years back...(resin) of course... and never put it together.... looked Odd shaped !!!

How many parts... in this one? "20" at the most ! it seems !!! very similar to their Viper kits.... Low parts count but Effective ! simple assembly and good results.... maybe they are on something...???

Glad you gave us this VIEW of the new Moebius kit !

I might pick one up.... and Its BIG !!! Daddy Likes !

PS: is there something wrong with your CAM? the shots facing the Workbench are Fuzzy ??? to me anyway... just asking ? don't run and buy a new cam on my account !!!

Hey Schweinhund this one has 24 grey plastic parts and 3 clear plastic parts.
Cheers

Schweinhund, the fuzziness is likely from the camera trying to focus on the bench instead of the model.

Okay, progress report on the Raider.
Started paint by giving her a basecoat of rattlecan grey primer

Then, I went in and hand painted several of the body panels in black to set up the contrasting panels seen in screencaps.

With that done, I gave the whole model a coat of Testors' "Graphite Dust" lacquer.
