... while reading up on the SAS and LRDG, I came across references to training in Lebanon, and that started me digging.
I hadn't ever looked into the interwar period, after T.E. Lawrence had made his spectacular appearance in the mid east.
Low and behold, I trip on some photos of the Black Watch in Palestine, ostensibly there to keep the peace and put down any 'local' rebellions.
And smack in the middle, a Morris CS8!

Out of the stash it came, I knew it was in Egypt in the 40s, but here, earlier, already in service to king and country!

Way outta my comfort zone, but no turning back!

My bench starting to look like a dentist's office!

Bend that PE! The tool made bending so much more precise than free handing it with plyers and the back of a blade!

I'd need a Lewis gun and mount for the back of the truck

Figures recruited, heads exchanged, new kit to reflect the year, 1937, Pith helmets, poms and ribbons of the Black Watch.

the poms are tufts cut from microfibre cloth, straps and ribbons in the socks are self adhesive copper foil I sourced at local stained glass studio!

you can cut it, you can shape it, you can glue it, you can paint it, you can pass it through PE buckles!

I really wanted to get some markings on the vehicle from the photo sources, so after several tests, ended up with a combination of decals and prints out of my inkjet...
