Mr. Mark Setter Residue

Yup… Always make it a habit to use enamel gloss clearcoat before decal sessions. Then spray another coat of clear - flat or gloss depending on the subject. The second coat will seal in the decals.
some people use clear varnish instead of clear enamel, any thoughts on that?

This is all i found in a rattle can and a name i know, is this the only option in a can?

Okay, with the caveat that I only paint in water-based acrylics - Citadel, Hataka, Humbrol, Vallejo etc. and Tamiya Sprays, I've been using these for over two years now (it's next to impossible to brush paint a decent coat of clear) with some really good results.

I use a gloss coat to seal the paint ready for decals. After decals I seal them in with another coat of gloss and then either a semi or matt coat depending on what I'm painting. You have to mask the clear parts regardless of what spray you use, and I'm not sure but I'd suggest you mask the chrome parts as well - I think. You may have check that on a test piece. Do mask the clear parts though - it'll wreck them.

Cheers!
