need help

thank you any one know whats a good after coat to use im using testors clear coat but its to shinny and costly is there any thing I mite have Lying around that might help out

Do you mean, you'd like to apply a matte coat now, over areas that are too glossy? I have 2 suggestions.

One is Testor's DullCote, which is what I use on my aircraft or other models, after decaling. I apply it in a couple of light coats, but it knocks the gloss right down.

A cheap, er, a frugal alternative, is hair spray. I have heard from people who have used it, but I have not tried it myself. It's drawback is that it doesn't last, but it's like the question of "How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?" To paraphrase the Turtle, "I never tried it."

There are other matte lacquers available, though, besides Testor's, even matte lacquers that you can get at hardware stores or automotive supply stores. I just happen to use Testor's.

hair spray hum thats a thought but im going to stay with testors dull thank you for the help now its on too the bike it has so many parts will post updates as it comes along stay tuned and thanks agen
