I did some poking around for old west kits and did not find what i would consider a huge selection. Mainly it seems to be diorama related with buildings (structures) and such. I did find some wagon kits.

Anyone ever build any old west models or into that type of model?

Airfix did some 'Cowboys' a good while ago - in 1/76 not 1/72 as it says on the box - here in the UK there seems to be a few sets on ebay.

Looks like a really fun subject actually - I hope that helped.

Cheers!

Yes I have built some 1/12 scale Amish wagons from a 1960s kit of pine wood and balsa a couple years ago. I'll try to get you some pics.

This was for my dad as he likes the old west, dont know if he would build it or not but im trying to give him something to do during his long days sitting around. I want to keep his mind and hands busy.

The one i want is sadly on backorder and is very popular, it sells out quickly from the comments about it.

There is another wagon set but i like the one above, i dont want to give him two much to overwhelm him, the other one has 50 horses.

I will keep my eye open for the one above when it comes available.

Thanks for all the great help on this :)

Are you from Texas?

That is a place that measures distance by time, what is this "miles" thing you speak of!?
Heh… I'm in Central NY. So when we figure out how far someplace from me, ie: Syracuse is about an hour from me. We don't speak in how many miles, but how long it takes to get there. Another good example… this summer we went to Portland, Maine… a good 5 1/2 hour drive. ROFL!

LOL! If you leave early in the morning, you'll get there by noon. I love traveling to Maine - been there 3 times so far. Slow paced and relaxing there. Been up and down the coast from York to Kennebunckport to Portland, Freeport and Bath. Next time I go to Maine, I want to stay up in Freeport (that's where LL Bean is) and head out to Booth Bay Harbor and Bar Harbor…waaaay up in the Acadia region. I d like to visit Camden as well. I hear it's nice there. Both my sis-in-laws and their spouses go to Maine every year in September after the tourist season.

There's lots to do in Maine.Plenty of great places to eat too. A must-do is have lobster rolls. Seafood is much cheaper there; especially lobster.

i am not a big seafood eater, i guess if i was raised near the ocean i would have those skills sets and desire for it. All i know about the ocean is that the ocean is waiting for you to make one mistake and it will take your life. Ever been to Limestone Maine?
