Hello all,
I'm getting back into scale modeling after a 15 year break. I used to build car kits back then but I've decided to try the military stuff. I have chosen this kit for my first attempt. http://www.internethobbies.com/tagetiilavew.html
My question is what brand of paint is the better choice for this model keep in mind I'm going to be using an airbrush and I'd like to use acrylics I used to use Tamiya back in the day. I'm considering the Panzer Aces Acrylic Paint Sets and the Life color Paint Sets. Or if anyone has other suggestions on what to use. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Puck

I've been using Tamiya Acrylics with no problems at all. Just need a solid primer coat. If I use enamel, i just use the basic Testors bottles since any other brand is typically more difficult to come by. I would also suggest investing in some AK Interactive weathering supplies if you're going to be sticking with armor :)

Tamiya Dark Yellow would be one of the closest for the dunkelgelb color. you can also use a variety of brand that is available on your LHS... you can also used the Vallejo Panzer Aces Brown for the camo, Life color is also great, rust set even the black set is also a great use.

Plan ahead...

Cheers

My impression is that the “Panzer Aces” series of Vallejo paints is more for figure painting (read brush work)………….
I think you might want to take a look at Vallejo products Panzer Model Air 71177 & German Model Air 71175…..

Tamiya sprays better once mixed 50/50 with there thinners, the panzer aces set are mainly for figures they have the highlight and shadow colors with some you may use on tanks,

My personal choice is Tamiya for spraying and vellajo for brush, But either way both are good

Thanks for all the pointers guys. I ordered the Vallejo Panzer Model Air 71177 & German Model Air 71175 sets to get started.
