Chris, this will help a lot with my corvette build, I also wanted to drop it, about 1 to 2mm.

Very cool man. Thanks for posting this.

One question. Were the 3 font axle options pieces you had in the spare box?

Hi guys ,nice to have you along :)

Scott ,I did have those in the parts box ,but the curve & drop beams both come in Revell's Ford 31 A sedan ,you'll also find them in any early Hotrod kit and I know you have this pickup yourself which also comes with a drop beam axle ;) ...its very easy tho to make up a drop 'Tube ' axle from round stock ,maybe take a look at that later ;)

Hi chaps ;D

Looking through some of the great car builds going on here at the minute put me in the notion to move this one on a bit :)

So ....When I left off I had stepped up the front of the frame ,I now needed to step the back as well .
On this one it was just a question of doing the same as the front ...ie using triangular gussets ,I havent raised the back too much (equal with the front ) because I plan to channel the body down over the frame a bit :)
It looks a bit rough here ,but still lots of work to do Im just finding the set up I want .

I turned my attention to the pickup bed next ,I thought it was a bit too long for my liking ,So ....out came the Dremel ;D
I took a section out of both the back and front of the bed ,The reason being there is a curve cut out in the middle for the axle which I wanted to keep .I used Tamiya 6mm tape as a guide ,taking a total of 12mm out of the length ,It doesnt sound much but makes a big difference .Obviously try to keep the cuts as neat as possible to minimize the amount of filling .

A quick check of the bed & cab on the chassis ,the bed has lifted up to the swage line on the cab and will go a little higher when I drop the cab more :)

I went back to the front end next to get the front axle /suspension sorted . I decided after a quick check that i can use the drop axle and leaf springs that came with the kit , it puts the wheels exactly where I want them , so a mock up was done with the front clip in place .
I wont be using the kit wheels shown in these pics ,they will get swapped :) ,I also need to do some cutting to the arches around the wheel ,but its looking ok ;D

This shot shows just how low the front is now ....Nice ;D ;D
