Repurposed Pickup Truck

I also grabbed a Live Resin 7.62mm Medium Machine Gun on M122 Tripod, 1/35 scale.

In addition to the PE and resin, I also received my wire mesh order from http://www.mcmaster.com.

I wanted to get a selection of mesh sizes and weights for scratch building for this, and future projects, so I researched on the site and tried to guess what might work at various scales.

I had to return my first order of 'Steel Wire Cloth' as the wire was far too thick.
My second order of 'High-Volume Particle-Filtering Stainless Steel Wire Cloth' is going to work perfectly.

Here's the selection I bought. All sheets are 12" x 12" and average out at about $4/ea. (Click for high-res images.)

Glued in place.

And then folded.

And here's one weathered appropriately. I also glued a 10mm section of brass rod into the tire itself to mimic the weight.

Damn ! awesome work on those chains !!
Build coming along very nice!!

This build is looking awesome!
This kind of stuff is exactly what inspired me to start building again.
Hope you don't mind I've 'borrowed' those ref pics you posted.
Glad that tyre trick is helpful!
I'll be watching this one!

Thanks everyone, appreciate it.

Having issues with the next wheel unfortunately - the CA just won't stick the PE chain to the rubber tire. The first one went fine, but it's as if my new bottle of Zap CA has lost it's ability to glue things!

I actually did on my finger and it wasn't the usual 3-5 secs to cure. It barely stuck and didn't really do much!

You think? It's brandy new and seemed to be working. I actually did buy two, I have another in the fridge that I can try.

CA lasts longer in cold. It will thicken up after a while sitting on your bench.
